On the morning of December 10th, Zhu Kongjun - Party Secretary of the university, conducted a field visit and research at the School of Business, inspecting the operational conditions of the school, the progress in discipline construction and the achievements in talent cultivation. Wang Fan - Deputy Party Secretary of the university, accompanied the research. Fan Yuanban - Director of the Party Committee Office, Li Mingzhang - Director of the East Campus Management Committee, Guangzhou Campus and Party Secretary of the Comprehensive Department, and the responsible persons from the Security Department, General Affairs Department, and other relevant functional departments participated in this research.

Secretary Zhu Kongjun visited the No. 6 Lan Yuan building of the School of Business, conducting an on-site inspection of the school's teaching facilities, classroom equipment, office conditions, and student service hall.

Recently, the official website of Shantou University updated information showing that Tang Rui has taken up the position of Party Secretary of Shantou University.

In the 2024 application for the youth student basic research project (doctoral student) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the project titled "Research on Platform Financing Models Considering Farmers' Strategic Inventory Decisions" proposed by doctoral student Lu Mengyuan under the supervision of Professor Fu Ke from our school was approved and funded with 300,000 yuan. This is the first time a doctoral student from our school has received funding for such a project.

Student Profile

Lu Mengyuan, a doctoral student majoring in Management Science and Engineering enrolled in 2023 at the School of Business, has been engaged in research on sustainable operations management. She has published nine research papers in A-class journals recognized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and SCI first-tier journals. She has also received honors such as provincial-level Outstanding Thesis and Outstanding Graduate Student.

Recently, the Management Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the results of the 2023 annual project performance evaluation. The National Natural Science Foundation youth project "Research on Data-driven Online Advertising Targeting Decision", presided over by Associate Professor Shen Huaxiao of our school, was awarded "Excellent" in the 2023 annual performance evaluation.

The project leader has published these results as the first author in journals such as Operations Research and Production and Operations Management. The research results have enriched the theories and methods in the research field of online advertising targeting, and promoted the application of data-driven prediction and optimization methods in the practical decision making of enterprises.

Gather strength to start a new journey after two decades of forging ahead. On November 30th, the Innovation and Development Workshop on the 20th Anniversary of the Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) Program of Sun Yat-sen University was held in the International Conference Hall of Shansi Hall of Sun Yat-sen University (South Campus of Guangzhou Campus).

Professor Zhi Xiaoqiang - member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Renmin University of China, and Secretary-General of China National MPAcc Education Steering Committee, Liu Pengtu - Director of the Graduate School's Training and Quality Management Office of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Zhang Junsheng - Dean of the School of Business, Professor Wang Lin - Associate Dean of the School of Business, Professor Tan Jinsong of the School of Business - advisor of China National MPAcc Education Steering Committee, Professor Lin Bin - the first Academic Director of the MPAcc program at Sun Yat-sen University, Associate Professor Zheng Ying - Academic Director of the DPAcc program, and Associate Professor Zhang Pengdong - Academic Director of the MPAcc program, as well as academic faculties of the MPAcc program, administrative faculties from the Professional Degree Office, MPAcc alumni, and representatives from MPAcc training units such as South China University of Technology and Jinan University attended the workshop.

On November 16th and 17th, 2024, the 6th Academic Symposium on Sustainable Development and Corporate social Responsibility themed "ESG Development of 20 Years and High-Quality Development of Chinese Enterprises" was held in the south campus of Sun Yat-sen University. The conference aimed to promote in-depth discussions among academia on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

Professor Zhang Junsheng - Dean of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, and Huang Sujian - President of the Chinese Institute of Business Administration attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

A total of 167 papers were submitted to the conference, and after three rounds of expert review, 57 were selected for conference presentations, with 6 being awarded as outstanding papers. Professor Yin Juelin from the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, Xiao Hongjing - researcher from the Institute of Industrial Economics of CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Professor Shen Hongtao from the School of Management, Jinan University, Professor Li Sihai - Associate Dean from the School of Accounting, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Wang Xiaoguang - Dean of Beijing Rongzhi Corporate Social Responsibility Research Institute, presided over the conference. Over 200 experts and scholars from all over the country attended the conference.

On November 24th, 2024, the AACSB Dean Leadership Conference themed "The leadership of Deans Drives the High-quality Development of Business Education" concluded successfully in Guangzhou. The conference was jointly hosted by the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, and the AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International), and was supported by the Economics and Management Department of Sun Yat-sen University. Over 100 Deans and experts from renowned business schools across the country gathered at the conference to jointly explore the future development direction of business education and the innovative pathways of school governance.

The conference was presided over by Professor Li Weiwen - Associate Dean of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, which focused on the critical role of leadership in the top-level design and strategic planning of the school, injecting new impetus into the high-quality development and transformation upgrading of business education.

On November 23rd, 2024, during the centennial celebration of Sun Yat-sen University, the National Joint Conference of Deans of MBA Programs of Business Schools was successfully held in Guangzhou. The conference was jointly hosted by the National MBA Education Steering Committee, Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education, and the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University. It was supported by the Economics and Management Department of Sun Yat-sen University. Over 600 leaders and MBA education directors from more than 240 institutions across the country attended the conference.

In the afternoon, the conference held discussions on "MBA Education Reform Supporting China's Modernization Process" and organized a work exchange conference for the institutions with newly accredited MBA programs. 

The 20th Central Audit Commission's first meeting pointed out that the research-oriented auditing should be conducted more practical, building a "special forces" for economic supervision. For which and to serve the Greater Bay Area strategies, the "2024 Guangdong Provincial Training Course for academic research elites in auditing" was launched at Sun Yat-sen University, hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Audit Bureau, co-hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Audit Association and the School of Management at Sun Yat-sen University. On November 6th, Professor Xie Shi - Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, Liang Jing - Deputy Director of the International Audit Department at the National Audit Office and Deputy Director of the UN Audit Office, Zeng Yi - Party member and Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Audit Bureau, and Lin Hong - Deputy Director-General of the Guangdong Provincial Audit Bureau and Secretary General of the Guangdong Audit Association and other guests attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhang Junsheng - Dean of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University.

On September 26th, the 12th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress voted to appoint Wang Sheng as Vice Governor of Guangdong Province.
