From June 8th to 9th, the Centennial Celebration Academic Series - the 2024 School of Business of Sun Yat-sen University Frontier Methodology Series Seminar: Cutting-edge Research Methods in Paired Data Analysis was successfully held in Lecture Hall 106 at the School of Business, No.6 Lanyuan, East Campus of Guangzhou Campus. The event attracted more than 300 experts and scholars from major universities and research institutions across the country. This seminar invited Professor Zhang Zhen from Southern Methodist University in the United States and Assistant Professor Shao Yiduo from the University of Lowa to be the keynote speakers. It was the first nationwide Chinese seminar on cutting-edge research methods in paired data analysis.

Recently, the Scopus database released the citation scores, known as CiteScores, for various academic journals in 2023. The China Journal of Accounting Research (CJAR), an English journal co-hosted by the School of Business of Sun Yat-sen University and City University of Hong Kong, has seen its CiteScore increasing steadily from 4.0 in 2022 to 4.7 in 2023.

Recently, the People's Government of Guangdong Province issued the "Notice of the People's Government of Guangdong Province on the 10th Guangdong Province Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences Awards" (Guangdong Government Letter No. [2024] 72), announcing the list of winners for the 10th Guangdong Province Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences. In this selection, our school has once again achieved a historic breakthrough, with a dual increase in the number and quality of awards, totaling 15 achievements selected, including 5 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 6 third prizes.

On May 31, 2024, a delegation from the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau, led by Dean Yu Jun, visited the School of Business of Sun Yat-sen University. The purpose of this visit was to enhance academic exchanges and cooperation between the two schools and to jointly explore new directions for future development. The meeting was attended by the deans, associate deans, and several professors from both sides.

The two parties focused on discussing future directions of cooperation, especially in-depth exchanges and discussions on the collaboration of doctoral programs. It is hoped that through these talks, more consensus can be reached on the training of doctoral students, scientific research cooperation, and academic exchanges, further promoting the common development of both faculties in the field of business administration.

On May 18th - 19th, 2024, The First Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Accounting Case Competition guided by China National MPAcc Education Steering Committee and hosted by Guangdong Provincial Business Administration Education Supervisory Committee, came to a successful conclusion. The Reborn to Party Team from the Master of Accounting Program at the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University (advisors: Professor Liu Yunguo and Associate Professor Zhang Pengdong) won the Grand Prize in the finals, while the All the Best Team from the Master of Accounting Program (advisors: Associate Professor Zheng Ying and Associate Professor Zhang Pengdong) and the Eureka Team of undergraduates (advisors: Professor Xu Liping and Associate Professor Wang Keming) won the First Prize in the finals. Associate Professor Zhang Pengdong won the Excellent Adviser Award, and alumni Chen Wenchao - Master of Accounting graduates enrolled in 2023 and alumnus Hong Zhenru won the Best Performance Awards in the finals.

From April 29th to May 3rd, 2024, 71 EMBA students from the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University went to Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland, and started a Global Campus study tour themed "Excellent Swiss brands" at the historic University of Zurich.

The 5-day global campus program at the University of Zurich includes class lectures, enterprise visits and cultural exploration, etc. The program's content covers Excellent Entrepreneurship and Creation: Swiss Manufacturing, Swiss Brands: Unveiling the Essence of "Swiss Standards", Swiss Family Businesses: Case Studies, Strategies and Practices of Swiss Family Businesses, Swiss Competitiveness: Tradition and Innovation, etc.

On May 17th, 2024, the signing ceremony of the Memo of cooperation on data development between our school and China Population and Development Research Center was held in China Population and Development Research Center.

During the visit before the symposium, Dean Zhang Junsheng visited the documenta of Population Thought, telephone survey room, computer room and data laboratory of the Center. After the symposium, the two sides signed the Memo of Cooperation on Data Development between China Population and Development Research Center and the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University.
