On February 29, 2024, our school held a meeting to improve application quality for 2024 National Natural Science Foundation of China (Management category).  

The meeting was presided over by Professor Li Weiwen, associate dean of the school. Professor Li Weiwen, Professor Zhu Shushang, Professor Xiao Jinghua, Professor Zou Bo and Professor Xia Li were invited to guide the application documents of foundation projects for many teachers in the economics and management department of our school.

This meeting was conducted in the form of a combination of individual reports of teachers and expert comments. The successful meeting has given supports to the teachers of the Department of Economics and Management, and help them to achieve more excellent results on the future scientific research path and contribute to the development of the school.

Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the results of the 9th Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Awards of Universities (Humanities and Social Sciences), and the School of Business won 3 second prizes and 1 third prize. Among them, the team of Li Weiwen, Qin Xin and Wang Shan won the second prize for writing papers, and the team of faculty Fu Ke won the third prize for writing papers.

On February 8th, 2024, the School of Business received an official notice from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) that the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University passed the re-accreditation by AACSB, after deliberation by the AACSB Continuous Improvement Committee and approval by the Board of Directors. This is the third 5-year accreditation after the first in 2013.

As the AACSB re-accreditation experts, Professor Terence O'Neill - Dean of the School of Business, Bond University of Australia, Professor Lv Kangjuan from the SILC Business School, Shanghai University, and Professor Ye Shujuan - Dean of the School of Business, National Sun Yat-sen University of Kaohsiung, came to Guangzhou from October 21st to 23rd, 2023. The School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University was evaluated offline.

On January 9th-10th, 2024, the Guangdong Province Audit Theory and Research-oriented Audit Backbone Seminar hosted by Guangdong Audit Office and Guangdong Audit Society was held in the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University. Ma Xuebin - Director of Guangdong Audit Office and Secretary of the Party Group, Tai Zhongzhi - Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, Lin Hong - second-level Inspector of Guangdong Audit Office, Zhang Junsheng - Associate Dean of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, and Professor Tan Jingsong - Director of the Research Center of Modern Accounting and Finance, Sun Yat-sen University, attended the opening ceremony. More than 100 people from the audit research backbone of the provincial audit system and the audit scholars team of universities in Guangdong Province participated in the seminar. The opening ceremony was presided over by Huang Zhihong - Director of the Internal Audit Department of Guangdong Audit Office.

On January 13, the 2023 award ceremony for outstanding off-campus faculties of professional degrees of the School of Business and the appointment ceremony of the off-campus supervisors were grandly held in the International Conference Hall of the South Campus of Guangzhou Campus.

The conference held the awarding ceremony for off-campus supervisors in 2022 and 2023 and the appointment ceremony of new off-campus supervisors to recognize and thank the off-campus supervisors for their important contributions to the professional degree training of the School of Business. Secretary Zhong Yibiao and other leading faculties presented awards to the off-campus supervisors who won the Excellence Teaching Award for Professional Degree of Master, the Outstanding Contribution Award for professional Degree, and the Off-campus Supervisors Collaboration Pioneer Award, and issued appointment letters to 14 new off-campus supervisors including Chen Bin for professional degrees in 2024.

On January 9th, the signing ceremony of Sun Yat-sen University - Shansi Kaiwu AI Innovation Empowerment Joint Laboratory was held at the National Supercomputer Guangzhou Center.

Sun Yat-sen University - Shansi Kaiwu AI Innovation Empowerment Joint Laboratory is a university-enterprise joint research platform promoted by Zhu Jiang, an undergraduate alumnus enrolled in 2003 majored in e-commerce of the School of Business and chairman of Shansi Kaiwu Technology Company. Based on the integrated innovation of "supercomputing + intelligent computing", focusing on AI technology and application research and development, intelligent computing center construction, software ecosystem and other fields, the School of Computer Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University, the National Supercomputer Guangzhou Center, and the School of Business will carry out scientific research and industry-university-research cooperation with Shansi Kaiwu (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd., and jointly build and operate the joint laboratory.

The two parties held a signing ceremony.

According to the official site of the National Healthcare Security Administration, on the morning of January 20th, the relevant responsible comrades of the Central Organization Department attended the meeting of the leading cadres of the National Healthcare Security Administration and announced that the central government decided that Comrade Zhang Ke was appointed Secretary of the Party Group of the National Healthcare Security Administration.

Zhang Ke has been working in the National Audit Office for a long time. After graduating from the audit major of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University in 1989, he joined the Fixed Assets Investment Audit Department of the National Audit Office, serving as Chief Officer and Deputy Director of the General Affairs Department.

On January 14th, 2024, the first meeting of the Medical and Health Alumni Council of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University (hereinafter referred to as the "Council") was successfully held at M202, Shansi Hall, South campus of Guangzhou Campus. Nearly forty people participated in the meeting, including Professor Yan Guangmei - former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sun Yat-sen University and Honorary President of the Council, Zhong Yibiao - Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University and Consultant of the Council, Liu Jingyan - professor of the School of Business and President of the Council, Shi Shaobin - Executive President of the Council and other members of the Council.

On January 13, 2024, the faculty and staff meeting of our school at the end of the fall semester in the 2023 academic year was successfully held in the International Conference Hall of Shansi Hall.

Associate Dean Zhang Junsheng, Associate Dean Li Weiwen, Associate Dean Qin Xin and Deputy Secretary Zhang Yifang respectively made a briefing on the overall work, personnel, scientific research, teaching and student work of the school in the 2023 academic year. Professor Wang Lin and Professor Wu Chenguang, Dean's assistants, made briefings on international cooperation and exchange, informatization, industry-university-research work. They introduced in detail the key points and goals of the school's work in the 2023 academic year, and emphasized the importance of solidarity and collaboration.

Finally, Secretary Zhong Yibiao summarized the Party building work of the school in the 2023 academic year.

Recently, the final of the 2023 China Graduate Enterprise Management Innovation Competition was successfully ended in Shanghai University. Under the guidance of Professor Liu Heng from the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, the "Tuopin, Tuodan, Bu Tuo Fa" team of our school won the national first prize of other graduate groups (the highest national award in the competition), the "Yi Wang Wu Qian" team won the national second prize of the MBA group, and the "Tian Kong Ti Quan" team, "Jian Zhi Zhuo Yue" team and "Fu Ba Ba" team won the national third prize of the MBA group.
